Christopher Bonner, 56, was found guilty on Tuesday, Aug. 20 of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and two counts of second-degree sexual assault, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said in a news release. The jury acquitted Bonner of four other sexual assault-related charges involving the same victims.

Prosecutors said Bonner sexually assaulted the two children who were related to him and under 13 years old. The abuse happened "on a regular basis" between 1993 and 2002 in Vineland.

Bonner could be sentenced to up to 40 years in state prison and he'd have to serve at least 85 percent of his term under the No Early Release Act. He'll also have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law and he'll have lifetime parole supervision.

Sentencing was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4.
